PHA II Keyboard (Progressive Hammer Action II)

These next generation keyboards feature a redesigned progressive hammer-action mechanism for a natural touch response from pianissimo to fortissimo. Without the use of strings, the keyboard uses hammer weight alone to achieve the same responsive natural touch as a grand piano. Keys for low notes are more heavily weighted, as you move up the keyboard the key weight becomes progressively lighter.

When the keys are pressed slowly, the resistance increases and then suddenly relaxes. The escapement architecture of the keys reproduces the characteristic click feel of a grand piano for the ultimate in realistic performance and expression.

Ivory Feel

The Roland HP207 incorporates Roland`s PHA II Ivory Feel Keyboard with escapement. This amazing new keyboard technology reproduces the real feel of ivory for the natural keys and ebony for the sharps, providing the stability and comfort of a real acoustic-piano keyboard. The natural keys have a 2-piece structure that consists of base and surface material layers and they are designed to absorb moisture, ensuring a secure slip proof feel.

Authentic Grand-Piano Sound & Performance

To accurately reproduce the subtlety of a full concert grand piano, Roland has created an 88-key multi-sampled piano sound in which the distinctive acoustic properties of each key have been captured. This along with 128 voice polyphony gives players a true and authentic performance experience, even during the most delicate or fast passages, dense sustains and damper pedaling.

Piano Designer Sound Customization

The Piano Designer feature allows access to a variety of tone shaping controls. Fine adjustments, with visual confirmation from the graphic LCD display, enable you to get the sound qualities you want, such as piano resonance or the effects of a different lid positioning.

Omnidirectional Sound System

Unlike traditional direct-emitting loudspeakers, the HP207 employs a unique audio system that allows diffused Omni directional sound emission. The player and the listener perceive the sound just as they would from a real acoustic grand. Volume issues are a thing of the past; you can simply adjust the volume of the internal sound system up or down to suit the environment

Twin Piano Mode

Twin Piano Mode enables the keyboard to be split into two parts, each of which covers the same octaves. Ideal when practising beside a teacher-the left and right pedals can be reassigned to act as damper pedals for either side of the split keyboard.

Audio Song Playback

Play back songs from a CD*, you can even minimize the pre-recorded vocals with the centre cancel feature and transpose the key with a pitch change feature. You can also playback audio files (WAV format) and standard MIDI files via USB memory stick.

The Roland HP207, HP204 and HP203 are equipped with a Roland Audio Port, which lets you connect an ipod or any portable music player.
